So come on, hands up. Who is not so secretly addicted to The X Factor? Don’t be ashamed you can tell me. I won’t tell. Honest.

I have to admit, and I’ll shout it from the roof tops….
I blooming well love it!
I’m not alone am I? Please say no!
It’s one of my not so secret guilty pleasures. That plus Cadbury Fruit & Nut, Ritter Sport marzipan bars and Gossip Girl. There are others but I won’t divulge.
You see, Saturdays are a bit of a family occasion for us. We spend time together either at mine, my Dad’s or my youngest brothers. We eat together and watch trashy Saturday night TV. We have a good old laugh and sometimes try to whoop each other’s asses pretend we are rock stars on SingStar or Guitar Hero. Competitive? Moi? Shhhhhhhh!
When this illustrious occasion takes place at my Dad’s place it is affectionately referred to as Saturday Night Steve. Tonight’s main event will be the torturing of my eldest younger brother (you still with me there?) with the new season premiere of The X Factor.
It only seems like two minutes since Alexandra Burke won last season. Where is she now, by the way? Are they planning some Leona Lewis-esque phoenix from the flames type resurrection? I digress.
So what will this season bring? Real talent? Maybe. A few flashes in the pan? Without a doubt. Hours of pure torture for my brother? That’s a given.
Roll on 7pm…….

Clearly we were seperated at birth … Diet Coke, beautiful children, a love of moustaches and now … the X Factor?
I love it … although I am usually only partial to the auditions. The teenager is revved up and even the 5 year old has asked if she can stay up. The husband is going to cook instead. Heaven.
I'm just mobilising the army to go to my Dad's. for the main event! Woohoo!
I wish we were separated at birth it would make me 3 years younger
.
P.S I managed to not delete your comment this time…LOL!
I think I must be the only person in the world that dislikes The X Factor!!!
Another fan here! Love seeing Cheryl and Danni compete on the outfits (Cheryl always winning), love the contrived sob stories (guaranteed to make me sob in my hormonal state) and love the people embarrassing themselves – best bit!
Emma – I can't bear it either. X-Factor and its ilk are (for me) exploitative, fake, cheap, manipulative television of the worst kind. Ugh.
Which isn't to say I don't have guilty pleasures of telly, but I can't enjoy things like X-Factor at all.
I think I'm the only person on earth that has never seen X Factor. Guess I should check it out.
Sorry, I'm not an X Factor fan, just Strictly. Although I was going to watch it this year because some of my pupils entered and got through three rounds. They were about to sing in front of Simon and co when they pulled out to concentrate on their A levels. I think they made the right decision and at least they knew they'd got through a few rounds.
Thanks for the comments ladies.
Each to their own I guess.
