What a carve up!

by Ellie on October 31, 2009

We’ve been getting into the Halloween spirit today. Well, as far as you can with two kids streaming with colds.

Big E donned his ‘Little Devil’ costume, and given his current ‘on form’ oscarworthy tantrums his attire was quite apt. Little E wore a totally non seasonal pink baby gro for the occasion. She’s not one to be swayed by trends.

Since we were confined to the house Big E spent the afternoon making hand print googly-eyed ghost pictures* and the husband and I unbeknown to him had a pumpkin carve off.

Now, I’m not competitive (cough) but when it comes to trouncing the husband at anything, anything, I’m happy as the proverbial pig in muck. So, we carved the pumpkins and proudly dispalyed them on the mantle piece.

I know mine his better than his (obviously) but I think he needs to know this too and in an effort to assert my triumph I’d like you to vote for my pumpkin in the poll below as the very bestest pumpkin (carved by me) that you have ever, ever had the joy to lay your eyes on.

I’m not telling you which is mine, it’s halloweentasticness (and maybe a little voodoo) will lead you to make the right choice.

No pressure now, it’s only my future happiness resting on the outcome of this…..

Which is the most halloweentastic pumpkin?

The witching hour is almost upon us so I shall bid you all a Happy Halloween!

Muahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Hot or Not?

by Ellie on October 30, 2009

Friday.

Hot or not?

Wanna play?

Last week the oh so gorgeous Simon Baker had me swooning to within an inch of my life. I had to resist the temptation to post him again this week. I’m sure there wouldn’t have been much protestation.

Just a second while I click back and have another moment with him.

Sigh.

Right, that’s better. This weeks request is brought to you courtesy of Laura at ‘Are we nearly there yet mummy?. She’s fresh off the plane from having the wits scared out of her with four other mummy bloggers at Port Aventura.

Laura’s last request (not literally her last request but you follow, right?) was hotly debated and even caused a slightly perturbed fan of his to email me about my dodgy choice of picture. I wonder if I’ll be getting any complaints this week?

So, for your perusal this Friday: Jeremy Piven.

Hot or not?

I’ve never seen ‘Entourage’ so I’m sitting on the fence with this one. I’m sure he’s perfectly lovely in the flesh but I’d rather be swooning over Simon Baker any day of the week. Now where was that link again?

You decide…..

Almost Wordless Wednesday – Picture Perfect Meme

October 28, 2009

OK, so lets face it, my Wordless Wednesday is hardly wordless Not even close. More Wordy Wednesday than anything else as it happens. In a lazy ingenious attempt to kill two birds with one stone I’m splicing this week’s together with a great meme for you you (see what I did there?).
Tara, her of Sticky [...]

She is a devil woman, or, Money for blogging and the perks are free

October 27, 2009

There are rumblings in the blogosphere and twitterverse today. Questions have been raised over making profit from blogging.
Is it morally wrong? Will it lose you readers? Are reviews the devil’s work? Does any of this really matter?
After much sleeplessness (nothing new there then) and worry over what people might think of me I’ve decided to [...]

The X Factor and the unstoppable force that is John & Edward

October 25, 2009

It’s no secret that The X Factor is a guilty pleasure of mine. So, naturally, this weekend I have been watching to find out whose turn it would be to be ejected from the quick fix fame machine.
I have to say, this season I’m not rooting for anyone in particular. Usually I’d be getting [...]

Britney carries her children and lets them have dummies – A tale of why I should step away from the Daily Mail.

October 25, 2009

It’s 02:01am (GMT) here in the UK and here I sit, awake as usual, waiting for sleepiness to pull me up the wooden hill to bed.
In an attempt to occupy myself during these small hours I read blogs, catch up on news and generally surf the net. On my random web travels I end up [...]

Will the clocks going back affect your routine?

October 24, 2009

It’s that time of year again when the mornings become darker, the days get shorter and the night draws in earlier. In case you’ve forgotten, on Sunday at 2am in the UK the clocks go back an hour. We’re leaving British Summer Time behind and heading back in to Greenwich Mean Time.
Hurrah! You say. An [...]

Hot or Not?

October 23, 2009

Can you believe Friday is upon us already? Seriously, I wish this merry-go-round would slow down a little!
So, ‘Hot or not?’ time.
Last week Kristina Rihanoff was a surprise entrant into our ranks. She received the usual mixed response but for me was hot because of her work promoting Breast Cancer Awareness. Oh, and I’d love, [...]

Just pretending to be grown ups – A pretty perfect evening

October 22, 2009

Two nights ago, for our anniversary, my long suffering husband Mr H and I escaped from the house and the children and pretended to be grown ups……
We had dinner for two in an actual restaurant. Not a pub, or a café. No children to wrestle with. Just Mr H and I, tête a tête. [...]

Almost Wordless Wednesday – Hair today, gone tomorrow!

October 21, 2009

On Friday, on whim and without really thinking about it I had seven whole inches cut off my hair!
I think I like it, although I’m not entirely sure…..
