What a carve up!

by Ellie on October 31, 2009

We’ve been getting into the Halloween spirit today. Well, as far as you can with two kids streaming with colds.

Big E donned his ‘Little Devil’ costume, and given his current ‘on form’ oscarworthy tantrums his attire was quite apt. Little E wore a totally non seasonal pink baby gro for the occasion. She’s not one to be swayed by trends.

Since we were confined to the house Big E spent the afternoon making hand print googly-eyed ghost pictures* and the husband and I unbeknown to him had a pumpkin carve off.

Now, I’m not competitive (cough) but when it comes to trouncing the husband at anything, anything, I’m happy as the proverbial pig in muck. So, we carved the pumpkins and proudly dispalyed them on the mantle piece.

I know mine his better than his (obviously) but I think he needs to know this too and in an effort to assert my triumph I’d like you to vote for my pumpkin in the poll below as the very bestest pumpkin (carved by me) that you have ever, ever had the joy to lay your eyes on.

I’m not telling you which is mine, it’s halloweentasticness (and maybe a little voodoo) will lead you to make the right choice.

No pressure now, it’s only my future happiness resting on the outcome of this…..

Which is the most halloweentastic pumpkin?

The witching hour is almost upon us so I shall bid you all a Happy Halloween!

Muahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Pumpkin A has 'it', Pumpkin B just looks like me trying to work out a sudoko or taking a dump!

I suspect that A is yours and b is the husband's.
I may be wrong, but I do like them both in their VERY different ways. Ahem.

I am a little worried that A looks like it's been attacked with a knitting needle!

They are both so great. Puts ours to shame (I was pleased enough with myself for getting round to carving one at all!)

I have to say that Pumpkin A gets the style vote – but Pumpkin B just made me laugh so much so I had to go with that I'm afraid. A fabulous night's work by you both in any event!

I prefer B, because A gives me the creeps… although that's the idea, obviously!

both good – pumpkin A is more terrifying to small children, pumpkin b, friendlier. But i have never carved a pumpkin so cannot comment on relative merits of ability. (isn't it impossible to do? there is a very good reason why only butternut is used in soup.)
