We survived…..

by Ellie on November 17, 2009

I feel a song coming on, you many just recognise the tune. I shall express my thoughts via the medium of disco.

Indulge me if you will…..

At first I was afraid.
I was petrified.
Kept thinking I could never live
Without him by my side.
But then I spent so many nights
Thinkin’ of nursery so long.
And he grew strong
And I learned how to get along.

And so he’s back,
From the nursery place.
I just walked in to find him here
With that big smile upon his face.
Should’ve saved myself the worry,
Put feet up and sipped on tea.
Wish I’d stopped for just one second
Saved the worrier in me!

Go on now go!
Walk out the door!
Don’t turn around Mum,
Because I want to play some more!
Weren’t you the one who told me everything was fine?
Did you think I’d tantrum?
Did you think I’d flail ’round and cry?
Oh no, not I!

I will survive!
Oh, as long as I know how to play
I’ll have the bestest time.
I’ve got lots of life to live,
And I’ve got bags of fun to give
And we’ll survive
We will survive, play play!

Yeah, so apparently nursery is brilliant. So brilliant in fact that he didn’t want to come home.
He played well, painted, joined in with the other children, didn’t have any tantrums and never looked back once I’d gone.

I walked in to find him hopping next to the teacher as she sang ‘Speckled Frog’.

Time wasted worrying? Infinitely too much.

Measurement of relief felt? Immense.

Very silly! Nursery is brilliant. Painting, new toys, sand trays and new buddies to play with. Who wouldn't love that?

Hee hee, fabulous. Got me some funny looks from my niece as I snorted and giggled but I'm used to that anyway. So glad he's a happy boy at nursery. Well done Big E and well done Mummy. x

Brilliant. So so funny and I'm so glad he's ok. And I may have commented twice here. My brain hasn't woken up yet. :D

Glad it went well for him, great lyrics.
"Did you think I'd flail 'round and cry?" had me in bits. Well done.

Yay for Big E! Think you should record your version of Gloria's classic, not sure it will be the big Gay Icon song anymore but I'm sure lots of Mummies will love it. xx
