I don’t watch much TV these days, but once in a while a new series explodes onto my screen and totally engrosses me. Glee has finally arrived in the UK!
The pilot originally aired in America last May after the American Idol final, was picked up and began airing in September 2009 across the Atlantic. So, we have some catching up to do.
Set in an American high school, Glee tells the often hilarious and satirical tale of a group of social misfits, their peers, teachers and their high school Glee Club.
Not only is it funny, but the singing talent these actors have left me breathless. Lea Michele, who plays misfit ‘diva in the making’ Rachel Berry, sings ‘On My Own’ from Les MisĂ©rables in the first episode. Her voice is just extraordinary.
If you watched the X Factor then you’ll undoubtedly recognise the pilot episode’s finale song, ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, released originally by Journey in the early 80′s, covered on X Factor by Joe McElderry and which the Glee Kids took to #4 on the American Billboard Hot 100 last summer.
I have high hopes for this show and something tells me I won’t be disappointed.
Bring on the Glee!

Oh my god its so good! I'm in Canada so we've got an evil wait until April when they give us new episodes but just you wait – it goes from strength to strength. And some of the best lines ever are in episode 2!
Glee is sooo good – I miss it – Summer Tv in Australia removes all decent shows
Glad to have someone else in my frame of existance, aside from my 10yr old who likes it as much as me
Oh I will have to watch this
