I’m not thinking about tomorrow and the fact that it’s my first day back at work after maternity leave.
I’m not worrying about my children spending their first full day at nursery, or whether they will be OK.
I’m not stressing out about whether the taxi booked for 8:20am will get me to work on time, or whether I’ll manage to leave early enough to catch the bus to pick the children up in the evening.
I’m not even the slightest bit bothered that in the last eleven months I might have forgotten how to do my job, or have a conversation with anyone over the age of three.
I’ve not deliberated for hours over what to wear, or even pondered whether I’ll be able to have the kids up, fed, changed and out in the timescale I’ve allowed.
I’m not letting my heart break over the thought of missing my children or feeling grief for a special time, now finished.
And, I’m most definitely not going to cry, especially since tomorrow is my birthday.
I haven’t given any of it a second thought.

I remember the dread I built up about going back to work. And I work from home! and my hubby is a SAHD so I didn’t have to worry about nursery. But even then, it’s a horrible necessity
