The word ‘beauty’ can conjure up a thousand connotations. From the wonder of nature to the perfection of a newborn baby’s feet, the eye of the beholder is certainly a powerful tool.
So, for the theme ‘Beauty’ in Tara Cain’s new weekly amateur photography showcase ‘The Gallery’, you might think I’d choose something natural and ethereal……ermmm, no. Apparently not.
The picture I’ve chosen was taken in a boat yard, it’s not classically beautiful. But look at those colours, and lines. All those now redundant items of what now appear to be junk but were once shiny and new, now juxtaposed against each other creating a wonderful abstract image.
It may not be conventional, but beauty, as Madonna sang, is where you find it.
Why not pop on over to The Gallery at Sticky Fingers to find out what it’s all about.

Brilliant, just brilliant. You’ve taken the words right out of my mouth, beauty is where you find it and some things just take a little more time but they are so worth it.
Love that you were stood in a boat yard taking a photo of ‘junk’ – makes me chuckle for some reason x

Glad I made you chuckle
.
Both my friend and I (both ex art students) we’re chuckling at each other photographing the junk.
It something about the colours and the composition that makes a pile of rubbish into a beautiful photo. The red wheel near the centre draws you in. Fab!

I like the red tones too.
It is so real and bright and i love all the lines.

It’s the random lines that make it almost abstract I think. They kind of distract you from what the picture actually is.
I love the muted colours in this, it’s fab. It’s good to be able to spot beauty in the most unlikely of places!

Yep, it’s natural and random in a kind of man made way.
I’d have been in my element in there. I’d have been down on my hands and knees crawling through the junk to take photographs. Love it.

I was with friends and family on a walk so only had a few seconds. I’m not a stranger to laying oin the floor in public to take a picture either!
That is so cool! The little splashes of bright colour really lift the whole thing. I love it x
Thank you lovely. Maybe next time I’ll be a bit less ‘out there’ LOL!
Brilliant! Beauty is where you find it and you loads of texture and interest there. Love it! x
