I’m not a pet owner. It’s not that I don’t like animals, I just get too attached to them and have been known to sob over gold fish.
Seriously. Imagine the scene; Me, the Dearly Departed and the toilet bowl. Flush, bye bye fishy, sob sob sob.
We get our animal fix elsewhere, usually at Chester Zoo. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea to see animals in captivity, but it’s the only way that we’ll ever be able to appreciate these animals close up.
I’m fascinated by the ‘big’ animals. I marvel over the giraffes, am transfixed by the zebras, but most of all I cannot get enough of the elephants.
Giant, and yet oddly graceful, to me they are beautiful creatures.

Somehow think the dung size issue would upset my neighbours though if I opted to adopt one as a pet.

That is a beautiful image. My son loves the zoo. If he had his way we would go there once a week. I totally relate about the goldfish… death is so sad.

What a fantastic pic of the elephant. Aren’t they fascinating creatures? The 6yo is desperate to go to Thailand and see the elephants. I think he pictures himself on top of one. That would make a good pic too!
