Welcome to the Best of the British Mummy Bloggers Carnival 2nd February 2010! This week I have a veritable banquet of posts for you to savour.

Please feel free to tweet and blog about it to your heart’s content!

Now, let’s tuck in….

~*~Appetisers~*~

  • With finances being top of many parents worry list, Antonia Chitty at Family Friendly Working tells us her top tips on ‘Becoming a Mumpreneur‘.
  • Susanna at A Modern Mother talks about play date etiquette and asks, ‘Do you keep score?’
  • Over at The Mad House, Mummy Mad is hosting a series of Children’s Craft Showcase posts, this time around it’s ‘Homemade Scented PlayDough‘.
  • Does your child’s school implement proper safety restrictions/controls on internet browsing? Clare at The Babbling Mummy is shocked and surprised in ‘Be careful what you teach your children!’
  • They say confession is good for the soul, either that or it gives others something to giggle about and there’s nothing like ‘Sharing a Few Secrets‘ over at In a Bun Dance.
  • How high is you self esteem? Have you ever had a crisis of confidence? Claire at SnugBaby realises that she is capable of more than she thought in her post ‘Reflection‘.
  • Emma at Mummy has a Headache is rebelling against years of muted toned clothes and wants to know if having children changed your fashion sense in ‘Have you been pinkified?’
  • In ‘The Big Apple‘, Victoria reminisces beautifully about the aromas, sights and sounds to the New York she remembers as a child.
  • Josie at Sleep is for the Weak would quite like just one ‘Day Off‘ in her wonderful poetic post.
  • Ella over at Most|Least was longing for her husband to return home and shared her ups and downs in ‘What a week‘.
~*~Main Course~*~

  • (Not so) Single Mum speaks very honestly about the trial and tribulation of single motherhood in ‘Being a Single Parent‘.
  • What’s your ‘Job Description‘? Sandy at Baby Baby shares hers, thankfully there’s a huge pay off!
  • Kathryn at Crystal Jigsaw speaks movingly and beautifully about the age gap between her and her husband and the possibility of growing old alone in ‘The Age of the Soul Mate‘.
  • Very Bored in Catalunya wonders where the heck the last 20 years have gone and ponders the pitfalls of wearing mini skirts in ‘The Passing Hands of Time….
  • How do you spend your winter Sundays? The Noble Savage describes hers beautifully in ‘Sunday Mothering‘.
  • With vlogging on the rise and marshmallow stuffing the game du jour Karin at Café Bébé dons her sparkly tiara in her second vlog ‘Smore Chubby Bunnies Please‘.
  • Heather at Notes from Lapland takes a wry look at the lengths women go to to feel, well, womanly, in her post ‘Faulty Women‘.
  • What kind of attention span does your child have? Tim at Bringing Up Charlie discusses his theories in ‘Pay Attention!
  • Snafflesmummy talks about her feelings on self validation and confidence in her post ‘Those People‘.
  • Carol at New Mummy shares her feelings on struggling to find balance in her life in her post ‘Just Not Enough‘.
  • A post not to miss; Deer Baby shares her deeply moving experience of grief, rebellion and being second best in her beautifully eloquent post ‘Dead Girl Walking‘.
  • How does it feel when your child prefers your partner to you? Muddling Along Mummy knows only too well in ‘Being the less loved parent‘.
  • You know those parenting moment where your heart bursts with pride? Emma at Me, the man and the Baby had one of those recently which she shares in ‘Milestone‘.
  • Kelly at A Place of My Own is longing for a bit of well deserved ‘me’ time in her post ‘Who comes first?
  • We may moan about the over exuberance of the Heath and Safety laws in the UK, but Fraught Mummy at Brits in Bosnia wishes it were better in her neck of the woods in her post ‘There are toys and then there are toys‘.
  • More than Just a Mother is feeling a little under pressure and would much prefer a bit of spontaneity when it comes to ‘Anniversary Sex‘.
  • Ever dreamt of meeting 007 in real life? Letti at A country Girl’s Life did just that in ‘My almost Mr. Wonderful‘.
  • Catharine at Withenay Wanders blogs about her son’s 9th birthday party and his decision to invite girls in her post ‘True love never runs smooth‘.

~*~Dessert~*~

  • Everyone love a bit of people watching and Amy at And One More Means Four is no exception. In ‘Crazy People Things‘ she shares some cringemakingly funny observations, and all in a day’s work!
  • Ever noticed that your children have a very handy knack of embarrassing you in public (in the funniest of ways) without even trying. Magic Mummy at The Diary of a Frugal Family was recently left ‘Mortified‘ by one such occasion.
  • Over at It’s a Mummy’s Life they are reminiscing about good times past with the aid of an unlikely 80’s icon in ‘Why Bonnie Still Rocks My World‘.
  • Missing someone? Claire at The Good, The Bad and The Ugly wishes her and her fiance could be ‘Together‘.
  • MuddyNoSugar openly speaks of her feelings and answers questions on being an adopted child in her post ‘She’ll do.
  • A child’s imagination can be a wonderful thing as Mum at a Mum’s Survival Guide found out recently in her post ‘Imagination‘.
  • Bumbling Along shares a lovely poem about hearing the everyday goings on downstairs while she lay ill in bed in ‘I lie alone‘.
So there you have it. Almost 60 brilliant posts, served up courtesy of you!

Many thanks to everyone who’s taken part and enjoy reading all those posts!
